SJCC “Hands on Hanukkah” Family Programming

The Stroum Jewish Community Center has created some wonderful Hanukkah programming at locations across the Eastside for families this year! 

SJCC has created a series of FREE pop up events, called “Hands on Hanukkah.” SJCC Staff will be at six different locations throughout the Seattle area to celebrate the holiday with arts and crafts and tasty treats for children of all ages. We invite families of all faiths to join us and learn about the miracle of Hanukkah!

Eastside Locations:

·       Mercer Island Farmers Market on Nov 21 from 10am-3pm
·       Family Night at Redmond Lights on Dec 3rd at 5:30pm
·       Temple B’Nai Torah on Dec 4th from 12-2pm
·       Bellevue Botanical Garden d’Lights on Dec 4th from 4-6pm

Sammamish High School Holiday Poinsettia and Wreath Sale

Each fall, the Sammamish High School Senior Parents sponsor a Holiday Poinsettia and Wreath Sale. These make wonderful gifts for family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. All proceeds benefit the current senior class & their graduation events!

Veteran’s Day Girl Scout Babysitting

What will your children be doing on Veterans Day, November 11th No School Day? Why not have them join us for a fun day of activities?

Girl Scout Troop 40333’s kid sitting for K-7 students will be led by 11th grade students, who have led at various day camps, including Tillicum Choir Camp, Vasa Park Camp and Girl Scout Summer Camps. This event is a fundraiser for the Girl Scout Troop’s trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2022.

The Camp has a fun carnival theme and includes: Carnival games, crafts, win tickets to pie your leaders, & more!

Sanitizing and all COVID Safety measures will be taken. Masks must be worn at all times, except when eating.

Participants should wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing.

Where: Westminster Chapel, 13646 NE 24th St., Bellevue, WA 98005
Hours: 9 AM – 3 PM
Cost: $50/day per student. Additional siblings are $40

Lunch and Snacks: Please make sure to provide 2 snacks, sack lunch and a water bottle for your child. For safety, please be sure that all food items are nut-free.

Mission InspirED Free Tutoring

Mission InspirEd offers FREE, online, and year-round tutoring to all elementary and middle schoolers! Students will be tutored by intelligent and experienced high school students who have a deep understanding of their subjects. If your child needs any support with homework or if they want to get ahead, this is an excellent opportunity for them to receive personalized instruction. Students can get help with a variety of subjects, ranging from computer programming to world history.

Mission InspirEd Fall Classes

Mission InspirEd will be offering free classes for elementary and middle school students. Classes will start between October 4th through April 10th.
