How it Works:

The Spelling Bee is open to students in grades 1 -5.  All students can download & print the word list using the links below for self-study.  For additional tips and best practices, see the Helpful Tips section of this site.

At the preliminary round, all participants will be grouped by their grades. Top performers in each grade will enter the final round in early spring 2024. The Champion from the final round will represent Cherry Crest in the Regional Spelling Bee contest.

Spelling Bee is sponsored by Cherry Crest PTSA, and is free for participants!

VOLUNTEER

We will need many parents to help during preliminary rounds, especially parents with American speaking accents. Volunteer here to be a word pronouncer for the final on February 7.

PRELIMINARY ROUND

The first stage in spelling bee will reduce the number of participants to 5 spellers in each grade within their respective sections.  The number of first-round spellers who move forward will be finalized by December 6, 2023.
