LIBRARY AT CHERRY CREST

Visit the Cherry Crest Library:  Kids (with an adult) can visit after school from 2:30-3:00 (12:15-12:45  on Wednesday)

Suggested Book Lists:  Washington Book Awards has nominees for different grade levels.  Cherry Crest challenges each grade to read all the books in their level!  See side panel for more info.  

Book Fairs:  Cherry Crest PTSA helps bring 2 book fairs to Cherry Crest:  Usborne and Scholastic

Volunteer at the Library:  Approved volunteers are encouraged to come help check in/out books and shelve them.  Contact Ms. Lux to get trained.  Then sign up here!

1st through 3rd graders at Cherry Crest read all 20 books throughout the school year.

At Cherry Crest we use the Jr. nominees as an additional book award presented to students in December or January for those 4th and 5th graders (and some 3rd graders) who want and/or need an extra reading challenge.

SASQUATCH READING CHALLENGE

2023 Sasquatch Nominees (wla.org)

Mrs. Lux challenges all 4th and 5th graders to read the 12 nominees by March 31st each year. Students who do this AND complete their Sasquatch form (signed by a parent/guardian and teacher) are invited to a celebration in the library.
